Kavin Raj is a Tamil actor who has starred in films and television shows in the Tamil language. After beginning his career as a television actor with Star Vijay, he is well known for Saravanan Meenatchi as Kavin (main role) in the Tamil film Natpuna Ennanu theriyuma, and Bigg Boss as Shiva (Season 3). Kavin was eager to pursue an acting profession while completing his education at Loyola College, and he auditioned with Star Vijay. His first television appearance was in the college version of Kana Kaanum Kaalangal, in which he played a student. Later, he returned to Star Vijay, acting in supporting roles in the serials Thayumanavan and Saravanan Meenatchi's first season. He then had the opportunity to be a part of Saravanan Meenatchi's second season, where his character Vettaiyan went through a character arc and eventually became the main lead. In his role as Vettaiyan, he received good critical acclaim, and he later won the Vijay Television Awards for Favourite Actor Male in 2015. Kavin decided not to act in any future television series once the series ended, instead of focusing on breaking into the Tamil film industry.
